Classroom scene

During this break weeks, I wanted to experiment a bit more with creating an entire scene in blender. I wanted to get more familiar with different modeling tools and pipeline that allowed me to create big scenes with details and storytelling. More than creating a single prop, I wanted to focus on creating something close to photorealistic that felt that life could be happening in it. Using as inspiration Anitek Rawat Classroom Environment class, and the Old Classroom made by Lucian Stroiny, I created my own version of this nostalgic environment.

Most of the tillable textures used I took from polyheaven.com and textures.com. I created special textures needed for specific assets, like notebooks, whiteboard, tags, and the variation of textures to make the world feel real, like the pencil drawings on top of tables, stickers and tags among others.

I wanted to focus on the small details, like the tags of the folios and the fire sprinklers of the ceiling

Border shader. This allowed me to create wear and edge details based on the curvature of objects. This saved me great time as I didn’t have to texture objects individually, but I was able to use a material and modify it to fit the specific props

Random colour material. With this material I wanted to be able to use collection instances, and still be able to have variations on colour on the props like markers, notebooks and colour papers
